Effective for Many Areas of the Body
The significant advantage PRP has over other potential therapies in that it is autologous, which means that the cells used are harvested from the patient he is treating. Platelets contain tiny alpha granules that release powerful cell-signaling molecules, including a multitude of tissue repair and growth stimulators as well as transforming growth factor beta, known as TGF-B1 and vascular endothelial growth factor know as VEGF. What makes PRP Therapy so powerful is that as the concentration of platelets increases, the amount of growth factor increases linearly.
How PRP is most widely used:
  • To reactivate tissue repair cycles
  • To promote repair of both acute and chronic injuries
  • To reduce pain
  • To enhance functionality
  • To stimulate cartilage proliferation, repair and matrix biosynthesis.
In most cases, 3-5 treatments may be required, with treatments from 2-6 weeks apart.
